We are excited to add the British Rail Mark 3 in the vibrant First Great Western Dynamic Lines colours to the Rail Tags fleet.
Originally these coaches served on the Great Western Mainline out of London Paddington to the West of England before being
transferred to ScotRail in 2018 as a part of their plans to introduce 'Inter7city' services across the country.
Upon arrival MK3 coaches 41140 TF, 42287 TS, 42289 TS & 44037 TGS formed 'Classic' coaching set HA33 which operated from 2018 until
2020 when timetable cuts caused by the pandemic withdrew the set from service.
The set was kept in storage from April 2020 to August 2020 when it was finally sent to Rotherham and subsequently scrapped.
Two years later it becomes the first of many Rail Tags. Get yours today!
Mark 3 Coach History:
The British Rail Mark 3 coach was manufactured in 1975 by BREL Derby in response to competition from the aviation and automotive industries.
Variants were produced for the InterCity 125 HSTs and loco hauled services, these ended up being designated the Mark 3A and Mark 3B.
Several multiple units of the era were based off of the Mark 3 coach including the Class 317 and Class 442 EMUs.
Due to the authentic nature of the material variations and imperfections such as paint chipping may occur. These are a natural part of the product.
