Committed to supporting the rail industry.
We’ve worked with:

Upcycling new life into old trains:
What is it?: Upcycling also known as creative reuse is the process of taking unrequired, redundant and obsolete materials or parts and turning them into something that has a greater use and value beyond their original intention. One of the greatest benefits of Upcycling is sustainability, in an increasingly throwaway society with unsustainable trends like fast fashion prevalent, the concept of Upcycling helps to conserve resources and protect nature and the climate through the reuse of existing materials.
Upcycling Withdrawn Rolling Stock: Our purpose at Rail Tags to the rail industry is to bring additional value to scrapped rolling stock by making as much use of the bodyshell and other components possible.
We’ve produced over 900 tags by upcycling over 60kg of rolling stock metal up to Edition 8, it’s not a lot in the big picture but for a small independently ran business we’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished by sharing the common goal of sustainability whilst giving much loved and characterful trains a second lease of life beyond their original intended purpose.

Industry Partnerships:
Since we were founded in 2022 we’ve worked across with various parties and figures in the rail industry to make Rail Tags possible.
Current examples include:
400 Series Preservation Group – Producing tags from Class 423 905 DTCL 76938 to help fund ongoing efforts such as the Batteries Included 4CIG Project and the upkeep of Class 313 201 by donating towards the unit and using the unit for photoshoot opportunities.
Clacton Express Preservation Group – Producing tags from Class 309 624 BDTC 75965 during fabrication works to restore the carriage for static display, helping to fund the group and providing a unique product to sell at open events.
Arlington Fleet Services Ltd – Access to rolling stock undergoing disposal to obtain metals and photoshoot opportunities at Eastleigh Works.

Retail Opportunities:
Rail Tags are an attractive and unique product which can be sold in shops, markets, galas and other railway related events.
Recently our Class 309 tags debuted at the Essex Electrics Exhibition at the East Anglia Railway Museum marking the first time our tags have been sold in a physical retail setting.
As we continue to grow and gain more reputation within the rail industry, we are looking evermore to the possibility of increasing the accessibility of our tags.
Therefore we are now open to the opportunity to sell our tags in physical markets and welcome any approaches subject to what stock we have to offer.
Rail Tags are always Limited Edition and engraved with a bespoke serial number, no two tags are the same giving individuality to every piece. Once we fully sell out an Edition they are gone with certain colour and pattern variations selling out within hours of an Edition going live.
Our sold out Editions are the: MK3, Class 442, Class 56 and Class 142 at the time of writing.
A portion of our Class 86 tags are available for retail opportunities.
If you are interested in stocking Rail Tags, please contact us for information about stock availability and pricing deals.
